The lamp tilted

Sometimes it wants a simple tale to ‘guile the day’s tumult and hustle of bellies filled and emptied, just a tale, unlikely, unlovely, to soften the small and large of the coming dawn.

 

 

The lamp of the title occurs in Robert Frost’s “An Old Man’s Winter Night” (1916). Its tilt is à propos of April’s cruelty, I thought.
